Gods of Wisdom / Gods of Destruction is series of larger drawing-paintings that is my private mediation on the issue of Global Warming. The title comes from the goddess Athena - the god of destruction and god of wisdom. We are all Athena.

I come from North Carolina, where a third of the state will be underwater by the time my grandchildren are my age now.  As ice caps melt away most globally aware people have the same sense of panic and mourning that I have; our world is on the brink of forever being altered and most of leaders in the U.S. have as little concern for it as they do for the plastic water container they toss away in the trash.

A friend and fellow artist asked if I could find any joy in these works. "Where is the joy in global warming?" was my response. I have tried to make beautiful works that speak to the unspeakable - in that act I still maintain hope that we somehow correct our path at the 11th hour.

May these works give a voice to your own feelings and thoughts. Let us both work for the Green New Deal and vote into office thinking politicians.  Now THAT would be a thing of great joy.
